Looking for resources

We are relocating to Hagerstown this month, and we need help. We'd appreciate any tips for:

- a house cleaner
- preschools/daycares (I have a 2 yr old and a yr old)
- apartment or house to rent (min. 3 bedrm, 1.5 bath)
- how to hire people to help us move in?
- nannies? babysitters?
- where to buy a car?
- play parks/activities for young children
- friends! for playdates or park visits or we love playing board games like Settlers when the kids are asleep :D

Thanks for reading

Don't know if anyone reads this anymore, but if anyone is looking for something to do a few of my friends and I are going to be roller skating at the Family Skating Center off Virginia Avenue in Hagerstown (the skating rink in front of the bowling alley).

Admission is $6 and skate rentals are $2. They're open from 7 - 11pm. We're also going to go Laser Bowling later on after skating, but we're not sure where we're going for that.

So.... if anyone wants to come skate with us (and watch me fall on my ass most of the time) drop a comment here or just meet us at 7pm :)

Free Hugs Campaign

Sometimes, a hug is all what we need. Free hugs is a real life controversial story of Juan Mann, A man whos sole mission was to reach out and hug a stranger to brighten up their lives.

In this age of social disconnectivity and lack of human contact, the effects of the Free Hugs campaign became phenomenal.

As this symbol of human hope spread across the city, police and officials ordered the Free Hugs campaign BANNED. What we then witness is the true spirit of humanity come together in what can only be described as awe inspiring.

In the Spirit of the free hugs campaign, PASS THIS TO A FRIEND and HUG A STRANGER! After all, If you can reach just one person...

Music by Sick Puppies. (Visit http://sickpuppies.net or http://myspace.com/sickpuppies for the music)

PS. The response to this video has been nothing short of overwhelming and touching. Hugs to every single one of you who messaged. There has been thousands of emails from all over the world by people seeking to participate in the Free Hugs campaign and asking for permission. You do not need permission. This is the peoples movement, this is *your* movement. With nothing but your bare hands you can make THE difference.

Imagine all the people.

Just throwing this out there for the hagerstown peeps.
There is a chance a co-worker and I will be competing in a 72 Hr. filmmaking comp. Just wondering who out there would be down for acting in it...and, spending 72 hrs running around, memorizing dialog on the fly, standing by while we argue blocking points, and well, other nonsensical gibberish. If this indeed happens, and yr interested, and under 18, we'll probably need a permission slip or something. No, not because its one of those movies...Thanks. More later.

hi! about a month ago, i took in a stray cat because she was pregnant. i decided that i was going to adopt her and take care of her kittens until they were old enough to be separated. sooo basically i have 5 really adorable kittens that will be ready to leave mom in a few weeks. two of them are possibly adopted already. i am wondering if anyone is interested in taking one, they're really insanely cute. i am only giving them to people that promise to get them their shots and and spayed/neutered and take awesome care of them!!!! i honestly want them all to be spoiled housecats :P

I don't mean to intrude here and please forgive me for doing so,but I am trying to locate someone that lives in Hagerstown,Maryland...at least,I think she does. You see,I haven't seen or heard from this particular individual in over eight years --- her name is Lillian Stahl and, back in 1997,she was up here in Butler,Pennsylvania and it was during a snowstorm. We met at a coffee shop and I helped her carry all of her belongings up to where she was to wait for a ride. Anyway, she was one of the nicest and sweetest persons that I have ever met and, since I have no ways or means to travel there,I thought that this may be the next best thing...she'd be about 33 years of age now and her daughter would be around eleven, she had shoulder-length brown hair and glasses and,in 1997,she was employed by Wal-Mart --- please,if anybody can help me,I would be eternally appreciative.

Without going into the what and whys of details on such a public forum, what I'm essentially putting a call out for is as follows:

I need some photos of myself taken (just a few). Something choked with black and white glossy artsiness. Something that captures hard luck rockabilly spirit in its theme. A classic hot rod (which I can't presently provide), railroad tracks, a garage, a junkyard -- whatever. I also need them in a hurry; specifically, by July 27th. If you're a decent photographer with an appreciable eye, you're what I need. I'm ready to pay for time/film/whatever, within reason, and I'll bend my schedule as much as possible to accomodate you.

And if it makes a difference, it's not for media whoring, art angst, or publicity; it's a noble cause. Productive comments, IMs (see profile for SN) or emails (my lj name@yahoo.com) are equally welcome. If you're up for it, I'll fill you in on the rest. Thanks.

Hey guys...

Okay so here's the deal. The job I had planned on working this summer is slowly falling through because of my medical condition (the job is outdoors and I need to be indoors because I overheat very easily). Anyway, so this leaves me jobless and confused as to where to start. I'm planning a wedding in the Hagerstown area this summer, so I'm leaning more towards just staying at home with my family in Sharpsburg for the summer instead of in Salisbury with my roommates.

If any of you know anyplace that is hiring or ANY kind of help, I would REALLY appreciate it. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
